We have now received a final copy of our Ofsted report following the inspection that took place in May 2023. We are delighted to share with parents, guardians and carers that inspectors have confirmed that Parkside Studio College is a ‘Good’ school in all areas!
Congratulations to one of our former students Chloe who is part of MasterChef The Professionals 2024! Chloe is a highly talented chef and enjoyed her Food Technology lessons at Hewens College before she attended Parkside Studio College to study hospitality. Chloe went on to study Professional Cookery at Kent College and has worked at restaurants across London such as the Michelin-starred Glasshouse, Duck and Waffle, the Georgian House and the Michelin-starred Kitchen W8.
Our Year 10 students had an incredible time exploring the latest trends and products at Professional Beauty London! This exciting event provided a unique opportunity for our budding beauty experts to immerse themselves in the world of professional beauty, and they certainly made the most of it.
Highlights of the trip included:
Gellish - Our students loved experimenting with these stunning gel polishes! The vibrant colors and smooth application made them a favourite among our young beauty enthusiasts.
Glitter Bells - Sparkles and shine were everywhere, thanks to Glitter Bells! The dazzling glitter products added a touch of glamour to the event, and our students couldn’t get enough of them.
Pro lmpressions - The innovative nail products from Pro lmpressions were a big hit! Our students were impressed by the creativity and quality of these products, which inspired them to think outside the box in their own nail designs.
We are thrilled to share that our Year 9 and 10 students recently participated in an enlightening Project Guardian workshop delivered by the Met Police and London Transport. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, particularly when navigating public transport.
In an exciting collaboration with Sky Up and their dedicated media education team, Parkside students have embarked on a remarkable journey to create their very own film about staying safe online. This initiative, part of our Safer Internet Day celebrations, has provided our students with invaluable handson experience in the world of media and entertainment.
We are thrilled to share the fantastic achievements of our Year 9 Health and Social Care students, who recently presented their research on Voluntary Sources of Support. Their dedication and hard work culminated in a series of impressive presentations that highlighted the importance of voluntary organisations in our communities.
A special congratulations goes to Poppy, Mahek, and Dhwani for their exceptional research and presentations. Their efforts not only showcased their understanding of the subject but also their ability to communicate complex information effectively. These students have set a high standard for their peers and demonstrated the value of thorough research and preparation.
On Wednesday 22nd January, Mr Fagon delivered an ‘Importance of Individual Liberty’ assembly.
The assembly was truly enlightening, and delved into the important topic of stereotyping and the dangers it poses. The topic also explored unconscious bias and how it can affect our daily interactions. A huge thank you to Mr Fagon for leading such an insightful session, lets all be more aware and inclusive in our thoughts and actions.
At Parkside, our talented Hair and Beauty students have been hard at work creating stunning hairstyles inspired by the beauty and elegance of the Chinese New Year, from intricate updos adorned with chopsticks to the mesmerising Geisha make-up. Their creativity knows no bounds. Students had a lot of fun and were able to gain knowledge about beauty and make-up from other cultures. Well done.
Year 9 students at Parkside have been making the most of their Christmas presents during lunch breaks! From intricate loom banding to beautiful bead crafting, their creativity knows no bounds. It is wonderful to see such enthusiasm and skill in action, and keep up the fantastic work of everyone.
On Tuesday 12th November, Parkside celebrated Odd Socks Day with a powerful message: Choose Respect! This special day was filled with excitement and meaningful activities designed to raise awareness about bullying and promote kindness among students and staff.
Parkside Sport students embarked on an educational trip to Brunel University, where they immersed themselves in a variety of practical activities and gained invaluable insights into the field of physiotherapy. The students participated in several hands-on activities designed to enhance their practical skills and understanding of physiotherapy.
On Saturday 19th October, Parkside collaborated with The APEX Project, Ricky Troops, Mr Midas Games and Black Tech Day to host a Creative Digital Media Seminar for pupils and students in our local area. Those who attended got to experience what it’s like to be a professional gamer for the day, and received tips and insights on all you need to know on the gaming and creative media industry!
